Models for Peace – Independent Peace & Development Research Institute
OVERVIEW
Models for Peace is an independent, non‑profit research institute based in New York that documents real‑world models for reducing the long‑term harms of war and political violence and building sustainable peace across generations. It translates more than fifteen years of case records from UN processes, disarmament efforts, and local initiatives into accessible analyses and tools for communities, institutions, and decision‑makers.
INITIATIVES

Field Labs – Long‑term collaborations that help partners design, test, and refine concrete peacebuilding models such as municipal peace offices, violence interruption networks, and cross‑border resource committees.
Documentation & Learning – Guidance and collaboration on rigorous, accessible documentation, including case records, SDG framing, and ethical visual documentation for local partners.
Case Records & Insights – Structured records and essays that map actors, timelines, and design questions across themes like war and security, democracy and governance, water and environment, and culture and media.
